Help us find the next generation of leaders working to advance the mission of adolescent and youth sexual and reproductive health and rights.

The NextGen RH Community of Practice (CoP) is putting out a call for applications to join its new Advisory Committee, or serve as one of two youth co-chair positions! The CoP is seeking a diverse group of youth and individuals from youth-serving organizations from low and middle-income countries (LMICs) to lead the redesign of the Next Gen RH CoP.

In 2019, adolescent and youth sexual and reproductive health and rights (AYSRHR) practitioners formed the NextGen RH CoP to promote adolescent responsive health systems, advance effective AYSRHR programs at scale, and to provide a forum to share ideas in the AYSRHR space. Bringing forward this vision, the Advisory Committee, through a series of consultations and design meetings, will take a fresh look at the CoP and create a new design that advances the (AYSRHR) goals and priorities that they identify as meaningful and urgent.

In 2023, the CoP will relaunch, keeping its current membership and hopefully expanding to a larger, diverse community of practice with objectives that reflect decisions made during the design process. The CoP will continue to be housed within the USAID Knowledge SUCCESS project during 2023 and will be comprised of global and local organizations and individuals working to advance AYSRHR.

About Advisory Committee membership:

  • Advisory Committee members are required to attend monthly meetings from April – December 2022 and commit 3 – 4 hours of time each month. (approximately 1-1.5 hours for meetings, 2.5 for prep and follow up).
    • Examples of tasks:
      • Providing feedback to ideas generated during design meetings
      • Sharing CoP goals with organizations to solicit their input
  • In 2023, the vision is for the Advisory Committee members to stay on as the CoP leadership team; the level of commitment will be determined based on the final CoP design.
  • The Advisory Committee will be led by two Youth Co-Chairs: one will be selected through this call for applications; the other Co-Chair is a current member of the Knowledge SUCCESS project.
  • Advisory Committee members serve for up to two years (the design year-2022 , and 2023) and during that time act as advocates for the NextGen RH CoP at the global, regional and country level, and help to identify organizations to join the NextGen RH CoP.

Who Should Apply:

  • Are you passionate about AYSRHR and have ideas for how to push the field forward?
  • Do you live and work in an LMIC? Are you a member of a youth-led or youth-serving organization, national or local NGO, or CSO focusing on AYSRHR?
  • Can you commit 3 – 4 hours per month to the CoP and attend monthly CoP Advisory Committee meetings?

If this sounds like you, please complete the application by March 4th ! Applications will be reviewed by a diverse group of Knowledge SUCCESS project staff, and new Advisory Committee members will be notified in March with the kick-off call held in early April.
